myclick

Leveraging on the indespensible use of the mobile phone, myclick media, took mobile marketing and integrated it into the mainstream marketing.

So how does myclick works?

Basically, companies put a myclick frame around their advertisements. Consumers who have installed the myclick application in their mobile phones can take a picture (using their mobile camera) of the advertisements that they are interested in. The myclick technology would then recognize the photo and sends the consumer to the promotion site of the advertised company.

Using a pull factor, myclick attracts consumers who are interested in the advertisements to enter the promotion site. This helps generate a higher conversion rate and return on investment (ROI).

Companies on the other hand can obtain the mobile number or email address of their interested consumer to do further marketing activities with them. They can also track where the bulk of their interested consumers saw their advertisements by alternating the myclick frames.

Because myclick uses both the mobile phone and the WAP, consumer can download vouchers, purchase items, booked flights, poll, send messages and etc. on the promotion site

What is interesting about this form of advertising is that myclick does not need additional cost to set up a brand new marketing campaign. It works around the existing marketing campaigns like posters, advertisements, emails, etc. All the client company need to do is to put a small picture frame on the existing marketing campaign material.

Another perk of myclick is that, no matter where the consumer is, they can easily access the promotion site by just taking a picture. For consumers who do not have a camera mobile phone, they can input a promotion code which brings them directly to the promotion site as well.

Currently present in China and Hongkong, myclick media has worked with well known brands such as Pepsi, CNN news, Adidas, etc.

One of the most interesting project they worked on recently was with China mobile where China supporters could take the China Mobile logo on the banners and the supporters would be directed into a portal where they can text their encouragement message to the sportsman.

look who has just released the talk of the IT town

Like all other google products, chrome is clean, neat and very easy to pick up. Designed to cater for the intensive usage of today’s internet browser, chrome is much stable and faster than other browsers. Yes, we can say goodbye to crashing of the web browser while opening 7 windows/tabs at the same time. Even though it is another PC based browser, it definately does give IE a run for its money.

My favourite part of Chrome is the main page which shows the pages which you most frequently visited, tabs that are recently closed and the bookmarks that were bookedmark recently. No more finding your history for the tab accidentally closed or digging your massive bookmarks to find the pretty website which you bookmarked just late last night.

Other perks of chrome would be the precised autocomplete in the main toolbar, the fast load time of the new tabs and websites, the left click inspect element which allows me to drill down to the html scripts. After loading my web based mailbox, it did not crash after refreshing.

However, while typing this entry, i realized that I cannot undo an action and i can no longer resize my pictures by dragging the pictures. Some of the pages which i tried to open on chrome didn’t load fully. Chrome also does not have the spell checks and when i changed my proxy server, it asked for my password serveral times.

The worst news of all: it is only available for window users currently

However, despite all its flaws, let us be gracious to the beta version, I am sure they will fix these bugs when the actual browser is launched.

To find out more, take a look at the comic which explains the concept behind google chrome.

Last but not least, go try the new google chrome! I am sure you will be a convert.
